It is a unique opportunity to explore the secrets of coffee roasting and fully appreciate the organoleptic nuances of coffee, accompanied by our experts and immersed in the aromas of freshly roasted coffee.

Explore the secrets of roasted coffee

During the course, participants will have the opportunity to access the production departments of the Portioli roasting plant, where raw coffee arrives, is selected and prepared for roasting. Roasting is an art that requires skill and precision: temperature, time and control of the processing steps directly influence the aromatic profile of the coffee. On our tour, you can observe these steps up close and discover how each bean is transformed to achieve the perfect balance of taste and aroma.

Guided by Aicaf (Accademia Italiana Maestri del Caffè) experts, the participants will also have the opportunity to understand some historical and botanical facts about coffee, to appreciate the entire journey of this extraordinary plant that is cultivated in different regions of the world. During the visit, we will also explore the origins of coffee and the botanical characteristics of the most prized varieties, to understand how each bean carries with it a unique history and profile.

Experience the organoleptic nuances of coffee

The journey into the world of coffee is completed with a guided tasting session in the classroom. After a tour of the roasting plant, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the organoleptic parameters of coffee through targeted tastings and blind tests. During this session, you will train yourself to recognize and appreciate the differences between individual origins and blends, discovering the nuances of aroma, acidity, body and aftertaste that distinguish each variety.

With the help of our experts, you will explore the characteristics of coffees from different geographical regions and with different processing methods. The sensory tasting is an opportunity to broaden your understanding of coffee and improve your ability to distinguish and evaluate the aroma profiles of each cup. At the end of the tasting, you will be able to recognize the different characteristics that make each type of coffee unique and fully appreciate Portioli blends.

A complete experience for coffee lovers

Our “From bean to cup” course is designed to offer a complete and immersive experience in the world of coffee. Held at the Portioli Academy, the course lasts three hours and can accommodate a minimum of 10 up to a maximum of 20 participants per session. Two slots are available, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., to allow everyone to participate at their preferred time slot.

The participation fee is 39.00 € + VAT and includes all teaching materials, as well as consumables used during the course.
